Dec. 27, 2003 - Got dirt? Rob's got it. Got Mud? Rob's got that too, which just makes for a better ride, well, most of the time. On December 27 Jim Doyle, Overbrook - DR650, Donnie Clausen, Topeka - XR650L, Rob Lux, Holton - DRZ400, and myself, Terry Fleming, Topeka - RXC620 horsed around North of Valley Falls.

Dennis Gowing from Lecompton joined us at the starting point for a quick bench racing session and headed home for other obligations.

On most rides it seems to be about 70% gravel 30% unimproved roads. This ride, the percentages were EASILY reversed, a few of them quite muddy.

J.D. had racing slicks shod on his Suzook, but showed that he's an "OLD" ;-)) dirtbiker at heart and traversed the slop with little fanfare. We came within about 7 miles of Horton Kansas before we turned around. Rob, you were a good tour guide.

As I rolled into the garage looking for something soft to sit on, my odometer read 138.1 miles. A good day.
