Photos taken near Durham, Lost Springs, Diamond Springs, and Woodbine on October 28, 2001.

Four riders gathered to enjoy the scenery: Tom Harmon - Kawasaki KLR650, Joe Williams - Yamaha XT350, Ted Asmann - Suzuki DR350, and Roger Baugh - Kawasaki KLR650.

Weather was cool and clear in the morning, becoming quite comfortable in the afternoon. Wind was intensive, with 35-45 mph gusts. With the dry spell of late, dust plumes became a constant traveling companion!

Tom Harmon led the group, and showed us some attractive routes through the hill country of Marion and Dickinson counties. Excellent visceral embellishments were enjoyed at Betty's Cafe, a delightful German fare restaurant in Woodbine.

Once again, we beat the odds with an unusually warm afternoon ... and were privy to some very impressive scenery.
