These photos taken near Cambridge, Grenola, and Latham along the Grouse Creek valley and up into the Osage Questa on September 2, 2001.

Six riders on this trip: Henry Harvey - Moto Guzzi 1100 Quota, Mike Alley - Kawasaki KLR650, Jeff Jelinek - Kawasaki KLR650, Derek Williams - Yamaha XT550, Tom Hamby - KTM LC4 640 and Roger Baugh - Kawasaki KLR650.

A couple of frames show us repairing Mike's flat rear tire. Seeing what looked to be a small nail embedded in the tread, we first tried to inflate with a can of "fix a flat" and leave the nail in place until Mike got home. The quick fix didn't hold. Upon removal, the "nail" turned out to be a discarded bovine hypodermic needle. Tools, experience, and spare parts weren't lacking, and we were mobile again in a short time ....

Weather was perfect, the scenery spectacular, and the going was great!
