Photos taken on a ride through parts of Marion, Dickinson, Saline, Ellsworth, and McPherson counties on May 4, 2002. The day started out cool, foggy, and in the high 40s. By afternoon, the weather was perfect.

Seven riders arrived at the start point in Durham, KS: Tom Harmon - Kawasaki KLR650 (host and tour guide), Steve Prewitt - Kawasaki KLR650, Dan Mitchell - Suzuki DRZ400, Greg Mitchell - Suzuki DR350, Jeff Jelinek - Kawasaki KLR650, Tom Hamby - KTM 640 LC4, and Roger Baugh - Kawasaki KLR650.

After our rendezvous at Tom Harmon's home in Durham, we enjoyed breakfast at the Main Street Cafe in Durham. Once fully fueled, we headed out into the Smokey Hill region.....

We traveled a wide range of country, and included stops at Mushroom Rocks State Park, Coronado Heights, and Viking Motorcycle Manufacturing in Lindsborg ... also site of our delicious lunch.

As the photos barely evidence, beautiful country, hospitable people, good traveling companions = most enjoyable day!
